Are students engaged?

Problem

No classroom ever has all of its occupants engaged in the lesson. There are too many variables for us to try and fix this. We don’t have data about who is disengaged and what causes them to engage or disengage.

There is a knowledge deficit between what a teacher knows and how students feel. It is into this gap that disengaged, failing students fall, often never to reemerge.

Solution

Klassify is an incredibly simple app where students give emotional feedback to a lesson as the lesson takes place. The teacher can see the level of engagement as the lesson progresses and review the levels of engagement once a lesson is over. Students who struggled are easily identifiable and alternative tactics can be employed to help them.
Students who who are engaged can be challenged.

Klassify allows teachers to identify the emotional state of students as they are learning, to see when students need help and what kind of help they need. This way the emotional state of every student can be gauged and the teacher can better understand how to cater to every student in her class, leaving no one behind.

Teachers who are unable to monitor the emotional status of every student they teach will have a way of instantly knowing which students need what kind of attention.
A web-based, mobile system would need a simple, message from student client to server and back to teacher client.

Why do we need Klassify

Some students get left behind. Great teachers can see when a student starts to lose engagement but teachers often teach over 80 students every week. Keeping an eye on the engagement of every one of their students is nearly impossible.

Klassify gives you insight into when a student loses engagement, the moment it is lost. Not later when they are six months behind the rest of the class.
